Referees

Many thanks to our referees.
The 2008 payment schedule is: $38 (Center Referee), $20 (Assistant Referee).
The IFASA modifications to
the USSF laws can be viewed here.
The following are administrative
notes and advice from our board to Center Referees:
- Player cards or proof of registrations are mandatory. No card, no play, period. Cards
must include a current session sticker! Please collect all player
cards and a team roster at or before the coin toss.
- Verify with the captain that the roster matches the jersey
numbers of the players.
- Late Games: To encourage players to arrive on time, and to
minimize the disruption to others, all referees should start
their game clock not later than ten minutes after the scheduled
start time. If play has not yet begun, inform the captains of
your actions.
- For Coed play, there is a 3 goal maximum, per player
per game. Any goals scored beyond the third are not counted and
the restart is a goal or corner kick, as appropriate. There shall
be no more than six(6) men on the field for a team at any given
time. Also, women are required to take any/all penalty kicks
from the PK mark.
- While slide tackling is prohibited (see our modifications
to the laws, above), it should be noted that sliding away from
an opponent (e.g. to keep the ball in play) is not a tackle,
even though it is a sliding play on the ball, and therefore,
should not be considered a foul.
- In the event that a player is sent off/Red Carded, retain
possession of the player card. You can forward it by mail to
the president of the league.
